We take great care to place the right aide with our clients.  All clients are asked to complete a detailed Client Questionnaire which is matched against our caregiver profiles using our proprietary matching algorithm to ensure the best possible potential match between client and caregivers.

We are extremely sensitive to the sanctity of our clients’ homes. Our Client Questionnaire also enables us to very clearly understand how our clients would like to interact with our Compass Care Assistants as well as their preferences as to how our CCAs are to assist them in their own homes.

Prior to starting service for any client, one of our registered nurses and a member of our Client Care Team will conduct a complimentary 360-degree intake and assessment conducted by one of our registered nurses prior to placement of our aide.  Our nurses provide close oversight of our Compass care Assistants and are always available to make home visits.  We do not simply place a caregiver in the home and leave; we are committed to finding, maintaining, and nurturing the caregiver and client relationship over time.

All of our Compass Care Assistants are state Department of Health licensed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) or Home Health Attendants (HHA) In addition, all f our CCAs are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid. All of our caregivers outside of NYC (and many who live in NYC) are able to drive.  We conduct a rigorous vetting process with our CCA’s before they are hired: a minimum of 2 rounds of personal interviews; competency testing, personality testing, state and national background checks; DMV driving record checks; drug testing and vaccination record checks. All of our CCAs are fully bonded and insured.  In addition to the standard home aide certification, all of our CCAs are given hospitality training in our home care institute.   Our CCAs are trained to focus on building and nurturing a caregiving relationship based on respect and mutuality.  Our CCAs are also given specialized training in Alzheimer’s disease/Dementia and Palliative/End of life care.

In addition, we are able to provide single visit check-in services where we will run down a checklist of items to ensure that an older adult, living at home alone, is safely and comfortably managing their lives and households.
