Request Unavailability!

Step 1: From the mobile app menu, select Hours Wanted and Unavailability

Step 2: Click ‘Request Unavailability’ at the bottom of the screen

Step 3: An alert will populate letting the caregiver know that they may only request unavailability that does not conflict with existing shifts. Click Continue

Step 4: Enter the details of the unavailability request. All fields are required unless otherwise noted

1. Enter the From date and times. If the All Day box is checked, times are not required

2. Enter the “To” date and times. If the All Day box is checked, times are not required

3. Optional – Select if the request repeats daily, weekly, or monthly

4. Select a Reason

5. Enter any notes about the unavailability


Step 5: Click Submit

Step 6: If the unavailability request conflicts with already scheduled shifts, the caregiver will receive an error message

Step 7: If the unavailability request does not conflict with already scheduled shifts, the caregiver will see a confirmation that their request was received and to call the office with any questions.

Each CCA will be assigned a Divvy card. This card is to be used for purchases that are made for clients, so that you will not need to use cash or credit card. This card is like a credit card, so keep it safe! When you receive your Divvy card, follow these instructions:

Completing reports for your clients during each shift is a requirement for all CCAs. This important information allows us to monitor client health, and it provides updates for client families.

Safety Precautions 

  • Take your temperature every day before reporting to work. If your temperature is 100.4 F or higher, do not report to work. Contact the RN, Mary Judge (mary.judge@compasscarellc.com) immediately. 
  • Wear a mask while commuting to a client’s home. 
  • Wear a mask at all times while in a client’s home, unless you are in a segregated space, for example, in a separate room. 
  • Remove your shoes when entering client’s home. You should bring slippers to wear. 
  • Wash your hands immediately after arriving and before greeting client. 
  • Say hello to your client but do not offer to shake hands. 
  • Wash hands frequently (for 20 seconds) during your shift. 
  • Wash hands before and after serving client meals or refreshments. 
  • Wash hands before putting on gloves and after removing gloves. 
  • Use proper technique when putting on gloves and removing them. 
  • Wipe down hard surfaces with a disinfectant, including side rails, over bed tray, tables, phone, remote controls or any other hard surface the client, you or others use. 
  • Use Bleach or Lysol to clean if available. If not available, use white vinegar. 
  • Dispose of gloves properly. Use a new pair of gloves each time you provide personal care. 
  • Use the dishwasher, or if the dishwasher is unavailable clean dishes, glassware, and utensils by hand, using hot water while wearing gloves. 
  • Wipe down and disinfect all parcels or groceries that are delivered to client’s home. This includes anything made of cardboard, including cereal boxes, grocery bags, and egg cartons. 
  • Do not take client out for non-essential travel.
